The Power of Friendship and Why We Need More of It

The Power of Friendship and Why We Need More of It

I truly believe that friendships are just as important—if not more—than a romantic partner. These relationships keep us grounded, show us how much we’ve grown, and remind us where we’re heading.

For me, my real friends are my safe space—the people I can be fully myself with, in all my moods, in all my phases. I can be loud, quiet, happy, frustrated, emotional, and they just get it. No one takes it personally. With them, I don’t have to filter myself.

Friendships are a sanctuary. A place where I can celebrate my biggest wins, confess my deepest fears, or cry when life doesn’t go as planned. And the best part? The right friendships lift you up every single day, even when you’re not together.

You don’t have to see each other all the time. You don’t even have to live in the same country or speak every day. A real friendship is the kind where you can pick up right where you left off—no explanations needed, no awkward silences, just understanding. It’s the kind of relationship where just existing in the same room feels enough.

And honestly? That’s what we should be looking for in a life partner too. Because at the core of it all, the deepest love is built on the same foundation as a great friendship—trust, laughter, support, and the ability to just be.

Last month, I spent a week in Madrid with two of my closest friends, and it made me realize something: We don’t do this enough. Life gets busy with careers, relationships, kids, responsibilities—but these moments of deep connection? They nourish our soul. They remind us of who we were, who we are, and who we’re becoming.

So this month, I’m launching The Friendship Series—a reminder to all of us to invest in the relationships that inspire us, that lift us, that keep us going.

Make the time. Book the trip. Send the text. Friendship is fuel—and we all need more of it.

💛 Tell me—who’s that friend that keeps you grounded? Tag them below and let them know.
